Calling the Greek demi-god Hercules is like calling his father Jupiter instead of Zeus.

Greek: Zeus –> Heracles
Roman: Jupiter –> Hercules

The real story is that the the king of Mycenae eurystheus Wanted Hercules to do 10 tasks and when he he said no it just kept coming up and then Hercules snapped and killed his family the tasks were his punishment and when eurystheus made him do more tasks so it turned from ten to twelve so that’s the story

This really depends on what version of the story of Heracles you’re listening to. In the version I listened to from Stephen Fry in his book “Heroes”, Heracles went about killing innocent people for absolutely no reason except for the simple reason he felt that they wronged him. Heracles would slay monsters and do good deeds, but only because he knew it would benefit him one way or the other. It wasn’t a cloak that did him in, but a shirt and his own servant who brought him the shirt was killed by Heracles. If someone sneezed while Heracles was talking and they interrupted his thoughts, then they too were killed in a rage. He sought out penance after many of his crimes, but he would immediately commit new ones all over again. Mythological hero or not, Heracles was a sociopath who knew he was dangerous and thus, deserves no pity in my book.
